The cloth, that hanged on the window sill of the house where I currently live, captures shadow at the window. In the center-left is the trace of a lace curtain, and in the center-right is the shadow of something. Normally shadows do not remain, but in Hiroshima, the shadows of people and things were left behind by the atomic bomb. This work recreates the unusual situation where shadows remain and let you think about the meaning to remain shadows.
Rays 2019 布 太陽光現在住んでいる家の窓辺に布を吊るし、その影を写し取った作品。中央左にはレースのカーテンの跡が、中央右には何かのオブジェクトの影が写っている。通常、影はその場に残ることはないが、広島では原爆によって人や物の影が残った。本作は影が残るという普通ではない状態を再現し、そのことの意味を鑑賞者に考えさせる。
